BB9 The Tuesday Show Review
Just opening the post so everyone can blog while the show's airing.
I'll be posting as the show progresses... and I'm even gonna keep my cool about the made for tv relationship between Matt and Natalie that they're continuing to push tonight.
OK, here comes the PoV. Can't wait to see it. :)
LOVED the comp! How fun was that?! And clever. I especially loved the result and the victory celebration between Matt and Natalie. I don't think we've ever seen him that open and happy with her.
OK... I just made it through an entire segment - commercial break to commercial break - without a single groan. I'm really enjoying this episode. Matty's Diary Room sessions are a treat, and the way they've edited everything together is darn near masterful.
And now I'm officially jealous of the tv only folks. We've all been suffering in suspense about the Siren since when? Friday? Saturday? It's been a while. They will very likely have their suspense ended tomorrow nigh ton the live show. I guess there had to be one benefit to being completely out of the loop. ;)
All in all, best episode (thus far) of the season. Bravo.

i had to watch the veto competition on mute because Allison sounded completely insane during that competition... I really didn't think peoples voice could reach the level where only dogs can here it but hers really because THAT high pitched

If I remember correctly Chel wanted M/N out last week. She was HOH and couldn't vote. They were pushing for M/N out with J/S but A/R and A/S went against them and voted A/A. Hence why Josh was so mad at Alison for changing the swing vote.

Ok, I admit I just found this and haven't read any other comments but have been following the updates (thank you so much!) I've also clicked on links to myspace pages and such. I watched BB8 last year and I wanted to interject an observation here. I know it might be out of place but it's a thought/theory. Sheila has , I think his name was, Julian listed as a friend fairly high up on her list. Doesn't that mean they are an old/original friend?(I admit I'm myspace dumb) He was one of the biggest pushe1rs on Evel Dick's Myspace page, like third one originally listed and promoting him while he was playing.
My theory is that Sheila knows/is in cahoots with Evel and HE is what is going to cause the RED alert siren!!! Given her background and history Sheila very well could be connected to him, right age!
Poor Nat they are making her look like such a stalker but at least Mat is being shown as the jerk he is and Sharon is playing him back
Im kinda mad we didnt get to see Nat drop the peice behind the stage. I wanted to see how that all happened!
At least this episode is hilarious. I love the speaking wall! And Sharon's DR.
Okay, so hubby just HAD to yak at me for the first 25 minutes of the show...love him, but geez his timing could be just a little better! LOL How long before CBS will have this episode online? I REALLY wanted to see the Veto comp!

Ohhhh, I just figured it out. The siren means they contract the Hudson River Virus, they all "die," and now they can say "Death did them part," and they become single players.
Did I figure it out? Better than my James is a mole theory? lol :)

I saw a blog Evel wrote on hims myspace. He made some pretty mean comments about Sheila. Either they don't know each other - which is my guess - or his mean comments were a cover...

Ooooh the fact that they're showing the twist means that there's an increased chance they'll do it tonight for the live show tomorrow. Plus remember Julie's message last live show.
What if the surprise is they bring back a "couple" from a previous season? Like maybe Eric and Jessica?
Anon@634, sounds like an interesting twist, if your facts are true. I also always thought that Amanda looked just a lot like Janelle, sounded just like her, and they are from the same area. I had half convinced myself that the twist was that all the house guests know other bb stars, but I am trying not to get too crazy. I would love the twist to be bb couples vs. bb favs. But thats not going to happen.
But if it's expected the unexpected, they probably wont break the couples up or bring someone back- thats too expected. Righttttt?
P.S. Carolyn I agree completely, this episode is the best. The wall conversation, DRs, the comp and Matty and Natty's win. Never liked them AT ALL, until that moment. As Allison says, they were "honestly genuinely happy people" for the first time!

At least this time though they showed him in a little more honest way and didn't make us think he was into her.
I LOVED THIS EPISODE!! The editing was great! I have not laughed so hard at a BB episode ever! The James as the wall segment was great! And I loved the way that they edited the Matt and Nat stuff! and Sharon... LOVED her "playing Matt" right back! Anyone notice that the Jericho episode .... is.. Jericho- The Return... HMMM...

"He gets too turned on from me, thats why he has to ignore me." Okay, officially back to being constantly annoyed by Matt/Nat. I despise when they communicate with eachother when they aren't in competitions, or fail to communicate I should say. Worst couple ever. Clueless, dependent girl chasing around and taking orders from a cocky, manipulative boy. I'm just so over them.
The siren is definitely going down during the live show, as we know the evicted house guest gets a surprise. And I think if I was in the house, the last thing I would expect to hear when I'm talking to julie on the live show is the siren.
Sounds like we will find out what the "mystery sound" will be all about tomorrow!! (at least from what they said at the end of the show). At the nery least they will tell us hwat it means and what will happen when it goes off. However to just be mean they will tell us but make us wait with suspense and anticiptaion for it to actaully happen. In that case it could be anytime between the end of the show and Sat so they can get thier reactions to the siern for the Sunday show. Just speculation but now it looks like I will need to cancel my meeting tomorrw evening so I won't miss the live show. I try to DVR it but I get home 45 mins into and hte family has already taken over the TVand I am not patient enough to wait until the kids go to bed to watch it. If I stay home I can watch alone in my bedroom. How pathetic is that? Umm can we reschdule our Weekly Wed meeting to Thursday because of BB? They would think I was crazy. But hey, crazy is as crazy does. LOL
So the announcer said at the end that we would find out live tomorrow night about the siren...so it will have to happen in the next 22 hours!!!
Paige...interesting about Amanda and Janelle. I have thought from the beginning that Sharon reminds me of the Allison a few seasons ago...
This twist could go so many ways...I just hope it wont save Allison

We learned Matt's strategy tonight as well, but that just setting up for him being called out by James last night.
They showed that Alli cant remember why after being told why, and that she has sunk her own boat.

Ok, could be either way but why the heck is Julian on both their blogs? How did he become connected to both? Is he just a publicity hound? I think not as he was very much "in" with Evel and Evel even talked about him so it really really makes you go hmmmm especially because (as our host here posted)Sheila threw out the challange that she would even go up against HIM! Hmmmmm? ;) Yes I like the theory Sharon/kansas connection/Jessica connection. Amanda looking like Jen, etc. We could get all crazy like but how about this too: Evel states on his space he is a swinger and talks big about sex. How many of these house guests have talked and acted up about sex and the things they've done? How about all the stripping? Has any other BB households been this blatant with ALL the players? I admit I only became addicted last year. Sharon "appears" to be to goody goody to fit the connection to fans/favorite type thing as opposed to a Evel type household.ooooooh, How about James fascination with the logs in guineas cage? Kind of kinky logs, another Evel thing! Everyone intertwined. LOL can ya'll imagine Allison going against Evel? Now THAT would be..........
Kim - Sheila and Adam were having a conversation in the bedroom ans she was frustrated that he wasn't listening/understanding her, so she commented that it might be better to just talk to the wall, that she might have a better conversation. James was on the other side of the wall and started talking as "the wall." It was silly and funny.
This episode is why I loved BB episodes - finally, I remember. I'd forgotten with the first few weeks of this season!
But first ...
Loved the editing tonight. The way they played the Mattalie storyline was brilliant.
And (with all necessary affection towards the commenter earlier), I too hate accents that I dislike. ;-)
Now, as requested, the "princess speech."
Mind you, I'm speaking in the theoretical here, since my personal viewpoint is so much more nuanced than the strict PC stance delineated here.
The position is such ...
Generally sexism (as expressed by males and some women who identify more with males) is the position that the masculine is of more value than the feminine. To be powerful is to be male and to penetrate and express your power onto someone else. To be powerless is to be female and/or to be a receptacle for someone else's "power."
Gay men, considered more feminine by anti-female sexism, are seen as not only female in expression, but by their very nature having to at some point be "passive" in a sex act on a man (a foolish assumption, by the way).
So, it is commonplace for sexism (and it's cousin, homophobia) to label men by female terms ("queen," "girl," "princess") as a manner of demeaning them by labeling them female.
Most gay studies psychological work (gay psychobabble, if you will) points out the obvious: that gay men will often use this terminology on each other, either as a term of endearment or as a internally homophobic attack.
So, name-calling of a gay man as a "princess" is both sexist (in saying that being female/feminine is bad) and homophobic (in denying a male's maleness based on his sexuality, real or perceived).
Miquel, I disagree. My least favorites would probably be jase/holly, old james, howie, marvin, and matt/nat. haha. I did like Janelle's game most in the end, it took me a while to warm up to her though. Just as if Allison ends up not getting evicted for some "act of god" as the HG's there last two seasons have been relying on, I will have no choice but to respect her game for sure.
I said in another post about them splicing something that happened on day 3 and putting it in like it happened this week in a joking way...and it happened!!
After the commercial break when Matt n Nat were in the bed room and arguing about how Matt treats her so crappily...did anyone notice that scene was from when Matt n Nat had that big blowout in front of the entire house? It was the conversation they had with one another after they were done arguing in front of everyone in the living room. I can't remember when it occured exactly, but Amanda n Alex were still in the house when it happened!
Just thought that was kinda funny. Must agree that it was the best BB episode so far tho. Thanks Carolyn!

ok some more twist "as the walls of jerico come tumbling down". Episode tonight was about wall. Also, "Joshua fit the battle of Jerico (the story goes that he blew a bunch of trumpets or something and the walls came down)" (gospel song). Just throwing some thoughts out. Biblical ties
Okay, re the "Julian connection" -- it is very likely it means nothing! I had Julian in my myspace friends list for awhile. Why? because he posted on a bulletin board I visited last season with updates and information about Evel Dick, he posted HIS myspace and encouraged people to sign up to get updates about where Evel would be showing up once he was out of the house. Myspacers can rearrange their 'top friends' at will...so Julian being in her top friends means nothing except that she wants him there for whatever reason. I dropped Julian from my friends list after awhile because mostly he is just promoting band appearances in the LA area -- and I don't live there, so didn't interest me in the least...but maybe it DOES interest Sheila....or maybe there IS an Evel connection -- maybe she is an ex or something...remember last year after a particularly nasty blow up with Dani he muttered to BB "why didn't you just put me in here with one of my exes!" LOL I think it would be hilarious to see Evel and Sheila playing against each other -- I really don't think she would last nearly as long as she believes she would...c'mon BB allstars!
the siren going off during BBAD would be pretty good promotion for the Showtime show, no?

I've never blogged before but for some reason I'm obsessed with this show.
My thoughts are this:
- Allison isn't as bad as you guys make her out to be.
- Natalie has to come into her own and put Matt in his place. Also, if she left him alone, covered up and started being her own person, I bet Matt would actually be attracted to her.
- Josh is crazy. Way more crazy than Allison. *I know, the vid of her WAS crazy, but everyone talks to themselves!* He is a timebomb.
- Ryan needs to speak up way more. He's WAY too quiet!

I too liked this episode...but the only thing that got on my nerves was hearing Allison say that she had no idea why Josh was so angry at her…annoying is all.

Didn't that conversation between matt and natalie happen when amanda and alex were still in the house. I do not like the way they make nat look i feel really bad for her. Josh cracks me up ,and sheila and adam are just too funny.And now i am wondering if chelsia and james have been playing everyone the whole time , she seems like she really wants matt out of the house. May God help us all if allison stays!!!!!!!!

The most entertaining BB9 so far... even if some stuff were so obviously chronologically challenged etc.
I felt like my mother was scolding me with
"Joshua"... out of Allison's mouth.
I also wonder if the HoH folks will lose all their stuff tomorrow... because unlike Dustin who got his crown in a comp... Joshua will have to give up his Princess crown... sent from his job.
For a change I am looking forward to the sirens...
Sometimes I call my husband a "princess" joking around . Why would anyone take offense to that? You have to be insecure if gets to you.

I am so happy to see that at least Sharon has a brain! PLAY HIM GIRL!!! I can't stand Matt, he is a disgusting pig - but Natalie doesn't seem to have ever heard of "playing hard to get" But I can't understand why she would want him anyway... I mean he is cute and all but he keeps rejecting her... walk away girl, walk away w/ some dignity!

I agree that this was the best episode to date. I still feel like it's a bit misleading, but not as much as last week's episode. That was a dooser! lol. I hope the siren goes off as soon as Allison walks out that door (or will she?)..hmm...Im a bit worried that she is going to stay in that house. I also think that when the siren's go off they will be evacuating the house. I know it sounds crazy, but what if they were placed in a different house?? This winter season was a log cabin, but what if they were placed in a beach house? Im probably way off here, but you just never know in this house! ALSO, I must also say that you know someone is coming back. Someone has to. We all know that they can't play in the pairs till the end. Why would a couple split the $500.000? It's just not going to happen. Singles soon...real soon!
