A Message From Neil to the Big Brother Fans
Neil logged into his personal myspace today, and posted the following blog. At long last, we wish him and his family all the best, and we're happy to be able to post this and spread the truth. Thank you for the heads up, Jud!

Thank you so much for the outpouring care, support, and concern from all the BIG BROTHER fans. This has been a difficult time for my family, which I am dealing with privately. The drama is slowly being resolved, and all is headed to a brighter place.
I am now happy to say, that I am spending time with close friends and family. I wish Joshuah the best of luck and hope that he keeps up our brilliant strategy to win the big prize with my replacement, Sharon. Please know that I will NOT be back to the BIG BROTHER house and contrary to some web speculation, I was not let go for health reasons. Eeek! Again, thanks to each and every one of you for your support during all of this Big Brother business.

So does anyone know if there was really a death in his family or was it something else?
i think this still may be a twist! Big Brother knows how fans check the houseguests myspace accounts. They may have had him put that on there to make us think he's not coming back and then he does come back! Just a guess since BB is trying to throw all these twists that "even the live feed watchers won't know about"

Spyke, I don't think BB is going to go to all that trouble to try to 'fool' us. Why would t hey need to? The HG's wouldn't know the difference and that is all that counts right now. I think people are reading way too much into things and grabbing at straws. Neil is gone. Time to deal with it. I hate it, too. I didn't get a chance to see him on the feeds at all before he left. That's life...

I hope he will be OK and hopefully make it to another season if he wants to.
I keep telling you! It's all a big feint from the producers so we'll be all the more shocked when they finally bring back Carol!

Someone told me it was due to his mom's divorce. Not sure why that would effect him so much.
I wonder where he is from. It seems his departure coincided with the NIU shooting. I hope it isnt that!
I hope he does come back even if he says that he won't be. I thought he and Josh were cute together.
One of the victims of the NIU shootings was Catalina Garcia, the youngest of four children. Could this be Neil's younger sister? Best wishes to Neil and his family...
Does anyone think that the twist may be neil coming back? i mean i know he specifically said he wouldn't be coming back but he may have changed his mind and him coming back is the signal that the pairs thing is over.
Neil's cousin, Catalina Garcia, was one of five students tragically shot and killed at Northern Illinois University.
RIP.
I don't understand why he was asked to leave because of his cousin being killed, when Sept. 11th happened her cousin was killed and BB didn't ask her to leave.
I doubt he was ASKED to leave. Put yourself in his shoes...
Okay well they didn't even TELL her, at least they told Neil.
Neil left on Wednesday Feb 13th... the shooting at the University didn't happen until the following day.
So much for THAT rumor.
