At bb9dish, we cover the Big Brother Live Feeds, so much of what we write could be considered a spoiler for those who only watch the broadcast on CBS. Now, we don't understand why anyone would choose to do that, since it's like forming an opinion based on 1/10,000th of the information, and they could at least try the feeds for free, but what do we know?! Chelsia is up in the HOH room saying that she thought Amanda was faking...James is shaken up by the ordeal and she is just kind of blowing it all off. She continued to question the scene by saying "I just still think it is wierd that they out her on the show if she was sick". It seems Allison ate a peanut.

So apparently Allison had a severe allergic reaction to a peanut - at the same time Allison is having a seizure.

James is very freaked out, talking about what it felt like to feel Amanda go lifeless. He's upset game play went on right after.

Amanda is not the first person on the show with a medical condition. Eric has asthma last season, and he kept his inhaler with him. Productions didn't give Amanda her glucose tabs and I heard her asking about them at least a day ago.

Human's have health problems, none of us are perfect. It's screwed up that production was not on top of that. As James said, she knew what she needed to do to take care of herself … but they don’t have any control over their lives.

So was Allison on the feeds when her allergic reaction happened, or was that while we were on Trivia?? That threw me off.

Why is Sharon fighting so hard to keep Matt and Nat? Josh is pushing to keep Amanda and Alex...he's right from their perspective; knock out the stronger pair.

Allison's allergic reaction happened off camera it seems (she got blottchy then her lips started to swell - someone said, can't remember who), it was some strange and lucky coincidence it happened while the paramedics were there. Although the on-set nurse would certainly have an epi-pen. Still ...

This game is strange, and life in general is strange.

I'm exhausted just watching all this.

IF Allison's allergic reaction was to a peanut - you know how they treat that ... after adrenaline they give her ipecac and she vomits for a few hours, then charcoal. It's awful and very exhausting. The two of them may be in the hospital a while - considering what the IC nurse said about treating Amanda's hypogl seizure.

Strange that Allison would not know she was allergic to peanuts... i'm not a doctor but I didn't think something like that could crop up in the late 20s with that type of severity.

OK Chelsia...we all get it...you think Amanda was faking it...again with the whole "They wouldn't let her on the show with that illness". I think I have to stop watching the feeds now. I don't want to hear her say it again.

I agree with biskit, I do not like Chelsia and Josh at all. I think its horrible that something like this could happen to Amanda and she is still so callous. I really hope she goes soon (Chelsia, not Amanda)

An allergy can happen at any time, any age. It's common that allergies develop later in life, but not so much peanut allergies, it's true. Severe allergy is relatively rare.

We don't really know it was the peanut, and my guess is it wasn't - because peanuts are in so many things she probably eats them all the time. Nut allergies are more likely to be suprising when it's a rare tree nut you don't eat everyday.

I need a life!

I don't believe that they use Ipecac anymore. I could be wrong but my pharm teacher told us a week ago (I'm in nursing school) that they don't use it anymore.

christopher s... sometimes allergies come about even after so many years of not being allergic. I went about 25 years with no allergies at all.. and now I have like 5 or 6.. tho none life threatening, like a peanut.

Apparently both girls are in a hospital, but will come back.. atleast thats what I am getting from the videos on YT.. Im glad.

I really like James now.. he knows the value of anyone life, if you like then or not, where as Chelsia is very "whatever" about the whole thing. :S

From another person's post ...

"I am an ICU nurse, this classic low blood sugar. BB should have had a clue about this, she obviously has told them she has sugar issues. IV now and run in as many bags d10 as poss. Admit now to ICU she can die. Seizure and gasping tells me she has a sugar of low 30's."

Glad to hear they don't use ipecac any more. Brutal stuff. It's been 10 years since I had any experience with severe allergy. Do you know what they do?

How will BB handle this? Will they give the HGs and the public updates? And what about Alex and Amanda being on the block? And I have always heard you are suppose to drink orange juice when your blood sugar is low like Amanda's? I'm just wondering if she could have done something else to help her condition?

I LOVE CHELSIA! I think she goes with her gut feeling.. and she beleives Amanda is faking.

That's the first thought that crossed my mind also when I saw her passed out. I'm not doctor but I've seen a few loved ones go through seizures. One of them being my own father and I'd have to care for him etc. I've never seen a seizure like the one Amanda had.
Not that it can't happen that way it just seemed like acting to me.

Also if she had a seizure she will be out it for a while, confused and perhaps doing some strange things. I'm anxious to see if I notice any of the signs of a REAL seizure. We'll see..

I still think it's FAKE

James is really freaked. And the way Chelsia is talking is making him see her in a new way. I think he is realizing she is not as great as he thought she was. I feel Chelsia and Sheila just moved up alot higher on the eviction list after tonight.

I stated this in other threads on this site, but I was thinking that maybe Amanda had a pseudoseizure. Pseudoseizures can be difficult to distiguish from tonic-clonic seizures, and the only way to rule out an TC is with an EEG. I'm just throwing this out there because I too thought that her presentation was odd, but I can't judge because I was not there to experience it first hand.
I made my assumption based on my neuro course and rotation(we watched videos of absence, tonic-clonic, alcoholic, infantile, and pseudoseizures/and on rotations we had to interview/evaluate patients).

Does anyone know if she had an EEG? I don't recall her mentioning this, either that or I just missed it. She was washing her hair, but it didn't look as if she had goop from the EEG electrodes in her hair.

Why is Amanda hypoglyemic? Is it because she just isn't eating enough? Carbs can be obatined from our diet and our bodies also can produce glucose from the breakdown products of meat(protein) and other food products. So if she had just eaten the slop at regular intervals, she would have been okay. She has been complaining of this for quite sometime, so I can only assume that she just wasn't eating at much as she should have.

If you are hypoglycemic, you can also have the honey or sugar dissolved in water. Since she did not have her pills, she just should have tried the honey and sugar water. Trying something would have been better than doing nothing at all. I just don't understand her reasoning sometimes-both honey and sugar water contain carbs(glucose, sucrose), so why would these not work?

If she had taking the honey or sugar water as suggested, she would have been fine. I don't believe that it was too late. She should have also sat down and rested for a while so that she would not expend too much energy.

I wasn't too crazy about James at first but now I'm seeing him in a new light. He is the only one who is genuinely concerned and affected by the whole situation. Game or no game if your a caring person you don't want to see anyone sick, hurt, or worse.
Chelsia's comment that it is weird that they let Amanda on the show if she is sick is STUPID! It's not like she has something that can't be controlled. I'm sure Amanda doesn't see herself as being SICK. It's something that a lot people have to deal with in their life daily and can pretty much keep under control. Chelsia's so lucky that her only sickness is her mouth.

I am so tired of Sheila whining. She is such a victim. She couldn't stand Allison and Amanda getting more sympathy. I thought she'd act out a nervous breakdown. And all her hand clapping to slam home her point.
What's this about James and gay porn?

It looks like Amanda's hypoglycemia was caused because she just is not eating enough. She does not have a major medical condition that causes her to have low blood sugar levels, she just needs to eat. This is also supported by her past medical history. She would have fainting/pseudoseizures when she rain track and didn't eat. The fact that the doctor advised her to eat more often supports that Amanda's hypoglycemia is caused by her lack of proper food intake and not some medical condition that like she wants people to believe. I think that these people also need a lesson in biochemistry because carbs can also be obtained when our bodies processes the food that we eat. She can also maintain her blood sugar levels with honey or sugar water.

I do not like how A/A are using her condition to sway Josh to use the POV. As long as Amanda eats at regular intervals, she will be fine. If she was that seriously ill, they would not allow her to return to the house, because she would be a medical liability.

As far as her convulsions, I am waiting for confirmation with an EEG. She had an MRI, and all that is going to tell you is that she did not sustain any injuries due to the fall. She said that the doctor said her convulsions were bad; so if they were that bad, then where is the EEG? They are not going to tell you that you have bad convulsions without first confirming it with an EEG. I hope that they are not basing the severity of the convulsions by her appearance, because seizures always look worse than what they actually are. Seizures are dangerous because of the injuries people sustain when they fall. I stress the EEG because that is the only way that they will be able to tell if her convulsions are bad-seizures are due to electrical activity of the brain. They need to evaluate the brain.

Sorry for ranting, but I think the viewers of BB( are being misinformed about Amanda's condition. We don't have the right to know, but they do not need to lie to us either.

just a comment on amanda and her hypoglycemic episode that happened. I heard her gasping for air as well, she may have a history of panic disorder as well. Those are really scary and are not just for attention, she may not have truly dealt with the passing of her father and panic's over it from time to time.

If Amanda truly has a diagnosis of hypoglycemia, "sugar water" is not going to do much except cause the same thing. Hypoglycemia basically means that your insulin goes into overdrive when you eat carbs. Insulin moves the sugar in your blood into your body's cells. If you eat just carbs and the insulin overreacts, it causes blood sugar to crash, potentially causing seizures, etc. Probably what Amanda was clumsily trying to communicate (and often, communicating is VERY difficult when your BS is crashing) was that RIGHT THEN, before the seizure, she was needing sugar (fruit or bread) to bring her crashing blood sugar back up, BUT on a consistent basis, she needed more protein and more substantial food. I don't know what exactly "slop" is - pretty much oatmeal, right? - but there's not enough protein there to offset the simple sugars that her overactive insulin is blowing right through.

- speaking as a person with diabetes who has nearly died twice from hypoglycemic seizures
