BB9Dish - Ya Gotta Have it!

The DishChicks are back and ready to blog Big Brother 9!!
At bb9dish, we cover the Big Brother Live Feeds, so much of what we write could be considered a spoiler for those who only watch the broadcast on CBS. Now, we don't understand why anyone would choose to do that, since it's like forming an opinion based on 1/10,000th of the information, and they could at least try the feeds for free, but what do we know?! Check bb9dish often for Updates, videos, pics, chops, opinions, etc. xoxo, C-n-C

Sunday Show Review

Just opening the post so everyone can blog away while the Sunday Show is on. :)

I'll be filling up the post as it goes along...

The Sunday Show has just begun, and again I'm stricken by how far behind the real Big Brother (on the live feeds) the tv only watchers are - lol, I forget every week.

Following the recap, the Sunday Show begins on the Endurance Comp. Pretty funny, they show the first several minutes unedited, so it looks like Adam and Josh didn't give up immediately. After they drop, the editing begins. Next out Matt...

They show Sheila fessing up to voting for the mystery guest - hoping it was Alex. James says he appreciates her honesty. We now know that the 3 votes against him wound up on the block this week, and quite intentionally. So much for appreciating honesty. ;)

All in all, on the endurance comp, a tremendous editing job. Really just fantastic. I found it very curious that they chose to leave out Matt's comments to Ryan, saying "Wow, she really loves me," and to Natalie telling her to drop when she was feeling most ill, but other than that, stellar.

The Bible Buddies Segment, although completely out of real time sequence, was hysterical! Then a quickie HoH reveal, and on to the massage... eh... not much for the edit on that one. He gave her much better than they showed.

On to the Who Voted How segment. As much as I've come to love Adam's incredibly expressive face, I really didn't care for the segment. I understand the necessity for it, in terms of building the full story arc, but it didn't thrill me.

Josh's letter - very sweet. Glad they shared it with the tv audience. And it's another bonus of having James on for a 2nd week. ;) No worrying about keeping the evictee out of the shot when you run a clip from something that happened a week ago.

They're doing a great job with the build-up to the nominations too (in terms of creating suspense for the tv only's)... "In my mind, everyone but Chelsia screwed me."

I *loved* the nomination ceremony. James gets all the credit for that though. Every detail, from the order of the keys, to the speech, had tremendous significance. Love him or hate him, the boy's got game.

All in all, I give this Sunday Show 2 thumbs up and a Big Matty smile directly to camera. ;)

P.S. They just Promo'd "new Survivor on a special night - CBS Wednesday at 8pm." Hmm.. Better check to see when BB's on. That's live show night! Bad enough we don't get our regular schedule... now they're gonna mess with Wednesday night too??

P.P.S. I need to pay better attention to Julie's little tag lines at the end of the shows. The Big Brother Live Show will air Wednesday Night at 9pm, following Survivor. :)

They announced the time change for the live show last week - it's for this week only as Survivor is being moved for that one wednesday show due to March Madness.

As I write for both shows, my lil typin fingers are gonna be TIRED after Wednesday! Survivor at 8pm and Big Brother at 9.

Thanks Lessa - ditto... though I must admit I've been a Survivor slacker this season... blogging it by the grace of well-timed (i'm beginning to think intentionally) nomination ceremonies.

I'm thrilled for the time change in that respect. :)

Expecially after seeing tonight's show, I am COMPLETELY unrepentant for my earlier comment that Matt needs to learn to act like a human both in and out of the house. The game is an artificial "reality", but when someone is as much of a jerk as Matt constantly is, it can only be because they weren't raised well or didn't absorb the lessons they were taught. Never trust a guy with pink hair? How 'bout "Never trust a guy with a greasy used car salesman's smile who uses women to bolster his poor self esteem, and who rubs it in hard when those he doesn't like are in trouble, but then sobs and whines and begs when he finally gets what he's been asking for?"

I'm sure Matt comes across as a decent person outside of the house--as long as he's not talking to his buddies about having his way with a woman. Personally, though, I wouldn't trust him to save a baby from a fire without calculating what's in it for himself first.

FWIW, I do detect some self-relexive irony here: I'd be overjoyed if Matt, Natalie, Sheila, and Ryan were all packed in a missile and rocketed to the moon--but then who would I have to root against in the BB house? LOL

One thing about the show that was important was the questionable last vote to bring James back.

While still on the endurance comp, Matt tried to insinuate that he voted to bring James back. While in the massage room, Natalie encouraged Matt to tell James he voted for him to come back.

Since it's apparent that James believes Adam about the last vote, then Matt basically hung himself out to dry by not telling the truth on the voting. It gives James "just cause" to go back on his promise to Natalie.

Further, it's interesting to see the whispers between Matt and Ryan about how much they despise James, and the two of them trashing James in the DR. M & R are big talkers when they believe they have power, but neither has any game when faced with the reality of eviction.

BTW - Since Matt, Ryan and Adam spend hours each day in Bible Study, can we call those three the new "Nerd Herd" ??? :)

No kidding, huh? They've timed the nom ceremonies practically PERFECT all season. Thank goodness. I've also had to use both my desktop and laptop - one for the feeds, the other for actual recapping, Bugs my kids cuz they can't get on my computer and have to fight over my sons. *L*

And I love the Bible Buddies - it cracks me up every time I see it. "Jacob's the MAN, dude!"

Carolyn I find it funny how you pick and choose what can be said about HG's.

To the HG's you like you are picky on their comments, but the HG's you dont like you let anything fly.

Disagree but just look at the comments its clear what the truth is.

Be fair.

anon@6:29 - it has nothing to do with the HGs and everything to do with what's actually said.

I don't like any of them more than the others.

Hey Carolyn,

Do you work to CBS? Are you getting rich and powerful writting this blog? Is there some hidden agenda to support particular houseguests for fame and profit?

I didn't think so.

You rock.

I do tend to get a little heavy on the delete button sometimes when people rail on and on about how much they hate someone, but fail to make any truly valid points.

And then there's the verboten terms factor... and, and, and...

I have no way of knowing which way I offended in this instance.

Lots of good stuff on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. So convient that those happen to be the times for Idol too.
Theres other days however, like Thursdays and Fridays that are painfully dull...
Bible Buddies. Thats just hysterical.
They need more Chelsia/James. Not only are they cute together, they make for great TV.
And A-man-dah should be shown Tuesday.

Missed the food comp. thats usually tonight...o well.

I took a small amount of offense to what you said to Carolyn about how you feel she picks and chooses what can be said about HG's.

First I talk privately with her all the time about house guests so I can truly tell you...You are wrong!

Her true personal feelings rarely if ever make it into her writing. She does a great job reporting on the houseguests and allowing commenter's to express like and dislike.

She even allowed your post on the subject..

I have seen the utter rude disgusting comments she has to deal with hourly...You my friend have no idea! I have seen her let posts go through that she really does disagree with...but she won't tell you that...

Carolyn I thank you for all the hard work you do everyday...and forgive me for making this post...but had to say something...

anon@6:29 I have to say: How dare you!

Bible Buddies-
Very funny. I loved how their discussion made the Bible sound like a romatic novel or something instead of the Bible(the pink Bibles and the room might of added to that part though)

NCAA Basketball "March Madness" will actually bump BB beyond just this week. It should be the next two weeks as well. CBS always moves Survivor to Thursdays this time of year for that.

The reason BB isn't on Thursdays in this cycle is because CBS has Survivor/CSI/Without a Trace in that lineup and those shows win the audience. Fridays are out because it is the second-lowest viewed night of the week.

Ratings for this cycle of BB are down a bit from last year, but the downloads are doing pretty good for the network. BTW, the Sunday show is the most popular of the three shows downloaded.

#1 please be kind and respectful to one another. Leave the drama to the House Guests.

Last year I didn't like ED til the very end. Yet lots of people were on his side from the start. I love BB and sit and listen to the feeds all day. No matter what side you are on, there will be only one winner.

ps: I love posts that differ from my own and sometimes even make me change my own views on stuff.

Pss: Carolyn you do an awesome job here!! Thanks for all your hard work!!

LOL no I don't think we could call them three the new nerd herd, original nerd herders didn't read the bibles. They were too busy dissing others and were afraid to tell people things to their face ie: season 6, 7 & 8 LOL

Beorn at 6:24 - I'm not quite ready to accuse Matt of being totally useless outside the house, but his offer to Josh and James to put Natalie up on the block (yes, THE Natalie of the "saving Matt's a$$" Natalie) in return for Josh's vote gets me pretty doggone close to doing so. Thank God Josh and James both immediately, and I mean immediately, put that selfish and disloyal idea to rest. Matt's attempt at keeping himself in the house at Natalie's expense, after she did soooooooooooo much for him in the last HoH competition speaks volumes as to his true character, and as I said earlier, I'm really close to agreeing with you that his actions appear to make it clear that he isn't a very nice person even outside the house. His response to Josh and James' refusal to entertain the idea was that he "wasn't sure what somebody might want to hear." Such loyalty to the girl who saved his rear-end just blows one's mind. Matt should be thankful Chelsea wasn't in the tub at the time he made his offer (she came out later). She warned him after HoH if she ever heard him say anything negative about Natalie again, after what she did FOR HIM, she would make him wish he hadn't. She strikes me as a girl of her word, so Matt got off easy making his offer outside Chelsea's zone of hearing.

Off topic a little bit but I do have to say you have a beautiful way of writing. You should consider doing it for a blog or newspaper for cash. You definitely have the talent for it.

Also If I were stuck in a house with nothing else to do I'd be reading the bible also. Just for something to do and keep my mind occupied. I don't necessarily think any of them are religious people. They are doing it for something to do and to pass them time.

I was annoyed with James' speech last night on the show. Since when did he become the poster child for honesty and morality???

First of all, if my memory is correct, initially, JAMES told Matt back when he was first HoH, that he wouldn't put him and Natalie up and he did against Alex and Amanda. So, I think once you first prove that your word doesn't mean anything, I think anything is up for grabs. James' ridiculous speech about how your word is the only thing you have in here, blah blah blah -- seriously -- everyone's word EXCEPT his? He was pissy last week when he got backdoored, stating how unfair it was to be backdoored and not given the chance to fight...however the week before, it was 100% acceptable for him to support and campaign for Matty to be backdoored.

What's good for the goose, James, is good for the gander. Get off of your high horse, PLEASE! it's like he's one of the "good people" from BB8! Maybe he should get together with Amber after the show.
