James & Sheila
4pm BBT
Backyard
James and Sheila
Sheila approaches James for a conversation, and he lays it on the line immediately.
Sheila: Congratulations on winning the veto.
James: I'm not changing my nominations.
It could've ended there, but it went on another 27 minutes. The only other part that is truly important is this:
James: To be honest, Sheila, you are not the person I am after. If it goes to a split, I am voting Ryan out.
Video captured by xx2000xx:
About 15 minutes into their conversation, Matt came out in the backyard and sat on the big couch, giving them privacy on the chaise, but still being a presence.
4:30pm BBT
Adam, James & Matt shoot some pool. Sheila watches from the big couch. Ryan is there as well, on the couch, under a red blanket, bemoaning his position on the block again. Ryan's very tired today... for some reason.
4:39pm BBT
Lockdown. All HGs go outside. All sleepy, cranky HGs, wake up and get out.
4:54pm BBT
Lockdown's over. Sheila's holding court outside talking about the cast of Friends, and who's the nicest...
5:10pm BBT
The Pool game has broken up. Josh is now in the jacuzzi chatting with James.
Sheila is in the couch bedroom trying to work Natalie, Sharon and Matt, for whatever it's worth. After a little while, Matt moves out to the Jacuzzi to join the boys. Matt confesses to being Mr. Paranoia. James puts him at ease, and says, "I'm keeping the noms the same. Promise."
Matt asks James if he has a particular way he'd like things to go, and James says, no, that people are free to vote as they choose.

I told ya Matt would flip, Shiela and Ryan would realize their mistake.
Now... Shiela is kind of smart. She planted the idea in James' head to take her off the block cause she would keep him safe (by saying this is what I THOUGHT you would do) while not making a deal. She was like "I thought you would come to me with a deal, take me off, put up Matt, and Matt goes home." Smart seed... will it manifest?
she's still trying to work james. trying to connect with him by the comparison of her son and james. and we know the things she's said bout him.
I like what Sheila has to say, but she is exhausting! Sigh ~Krista
I actually like Sheila & Ryan (I don't really LOVE anyone right now) but I don't like how they complain about helping/protecting Matt, and now it's biting them in the a$$! That was their choice. They chose to protect someone, and now they're living with those consequences! I don't like their pity parties!
Please get Shelia out of the house!! I dont like how she is playing the game - she is not a strong player, she gets everyone to go her dirty work, and now scheming to get off the block -- she threw allison under the bus -- remember?? She had "nothing" t do with their lesbian relationship? I want Ryan to stay!!!
Have the houseguests ever mentioned that every male that gets close to Matt gets evicted? Parker, Alex, Ryan.
Ryan has to be the biggest dork on the planet. From his pants half off his butt, to his gangsta hat on crooked. Further, he trusts in Matt as his "boy" when Matt wanted Ryan gone in week one.
After Ryan goes this week, poor Adam will become the next buddy thrown under the Matt Express Bus.
Shelia orchestrated James being put on the block last week. She was the one that went an aligned with the guys. I guess she has figured out that the Matt, Ryan and Adam don't have her back.......she's an idiot. They need to vote out Ryan so Matt, Shelia, Natalie and to some extent Adam won't have anyone to hide behind anymore. James should know who wanted him out of the house and it starts with Ryan, Matt and Shelia.
I really like James this week, despite being very disappointed that he's back and not Alex.
Sheila is going to have a breakdown within the next few days, I just know it. Can't wait.
Anon @ 5:13:
Or is she a smart player because everyone is falling for her words and doing her dirty work for her so she doesn't get punished for it? Think about it... if you wanted to off someone would you kill them yourself and risk going to jail for life or if someone was dumb enough to do it for you and take the heat doesn't that make you a smarter person? Just food for thought. :-)
But she IS being punished for it now, and everyone is onto her. It's the end of the road for Sheila, her game is too obvious.
Matt alone was trying to get James out last week, but Ryan went along with it. All Sheila did was let Ryan know that not everyone in the house supports the J/C/J/S alliance. Every time Ryan mentioned putting Josh up, Matt would say "Oh, I thought you'd want James out because he's a stronger player." It was liking listening to a parrot or a broken record. I say Sheila & Ryan made the best decision... Ryan went from a F5 alliance to a F3 alliance. At the same time, after J/C/J/S promised Ryan F5... James asked C/J/S in the hot tub if it would be okay if he broke his word to Ryan and put him up if he won HOH the following week. C/J said "sounds good."
I think it's great that James was telling everyone that he wants everyone's votes to be their own, but when Josh said he was going to vote out Sharon, James replied "No, I want Ryan out."
Is calling someone a hypocrite a personal attack?
stephen ritchie -- that's what I was thinking. Sheila's playing the game pretty well in my opinion. (And, I still think she's a trooper for playing with a bunch of 20-somethings in their crazy sexy world!)
Anon @ 5:37 -- She is KINDA being punished for it. James has stated over and over that he wants Ryan out. He only had three choices. Ryan, Sheila, or Adam, and he knows that Adam voted for HIM to return instead of the mystery HG. Sheila isn't really the target. She just doesn't have a deal like Nat & Matt do. And, James wants to keep his word unlike everyone else did last week...
She is so trying to get James to take her off n put up Josh,by pointing how dangerous he is with his attacks. The whole thing was her dam idea in the 1st place. Ryan should have taken the 2 week deal! That was the dumbest move ever!!!!! And i love the way James is playing the game!! Hes trying to make them all realise they are playing as individuals. Vote how they want. Not what everyone else is doing.
Beth and Eric: I agree completely. She is paying a price- sort of- she is on the block. But I think it is clear that Ryan is the bigger target right now, and another week in this game is like a whole new life. She can win HOH, she can form a new alliance... someone can pull an abortion comment like Eric last year with Amber and make him the next target. I think we need to give Sheila a little more credit!
I do agree, however, that she could have been more discreet in playing both sides. The way she has been doing it as been rather blatant and its only a matter of time until people talk... the only question now is will they talk too late?
RE Anon: I look at her punishment like the death penalty... doing it herself is a sure death but making someone else do it and getting caught is like life with the possibility of parole... possibility of parole being another week in the house giving you time to build up a case to stay rather than being evicted this week with no chance of winning more people over.
I dunno Stephan, sounds a little bit like what Joey Buttafucco did and I don't think HE is smart either! Cowardly, chicken-sh*t, manipulative, but not smart!
Personally, I find and have always found Sheila to be 'disgusting'! I actually can't believe the other HGs can't see that she is manipulating them -- she is so frikkin' OBVIOUS about it!
And the way she double-talks and interrupts others! OY! She makes me crazy! I really, really hope she goes this week because I'm sick to death of hearing her babble.
And I believe James is smart enough to not fall for her manipulations, based on what was said by him during the 'bash Sheila' session last night. I HOPE so anyway...
As for Matt and 'his boys', I said it a couple weeks ago -- when he refers to someone as 'my boy' that is equivalent to the Godfather's kiss of death!
RE: Boomer
Haha... good analogy. Although... I was being a little dramatic comparing real contracted murder to the big brother game, but I get what you are saying
How come everybody can see everything, schemes and what not but the idiots in the house living it cant? It is so frustrating but addicting at the same time...
Anyone happen to notice that whoever is HOH sways not only the people in the house, but they also sway the peoples comments here. If you read these comments you will notice that whoever is HOH is the one they seem to like and give credit to. Just goes to show you how easily people can be manipulated. They always want to be attached to the winner. I personally can't wait until next week and I hope that Ryan stays and wins HOH again and we do it all over again. And I hope he puts up James and Josh. I think Josh is just staying by default (doesn't really have game).
The houseguests just found croquet mallets and balls in the storage room.
Anon @ 6:15... I have DEFINITLEY noticed that... especially with the results of the mini polls. I am really not a huge Chelsea/James fan so I cannot wait until next week.. i hope one of them gets taken out!
Carolyn, I so appreciate your site! I check in about 6 times a day. Big Brother is so addictive!!!!!!!! My family said their giving me an intervention!! Have yall noticed Josh n comp. Have won ( almost)all the HOH's so far. They r doing somethin right.
It's interesting to review James' behavior towards the house both times he's had HoH. When I compare his behavior with that of Ryan in HoH, he comes out less than worthy. Ryan was gracious, unpretentious, and treated everyone with a modicum of respect whether the housemates deserved it or not. He is a respectful person.
When you compare James’ behavior towards the house when he was on the block to that of Ryan, I believe the same can be said. Ryan doesn’t panic and make irrational accusations. The trouble with James is that he’s very good at dishing it out but severely lacks the maturity to take his own medicine. Instead of taking something away from the reasons “why” he was placed there in the first place, he droned on and on, “why me, why me, why me?” Sad and pathetic he is.
James has shown his lack of maturity because he feels it is his duty to repremand everyone who went against him, all the while suggesting that he should receive respect because he wants to "get to know" everyone on more than a superficial level. I’m sure that Natalie is regretting opening up some of her wounds for exposure to Josh, Chelsia, and James. Even the pickle juice incident looked like a toddler who didn’t get his way! While James may think can beat the "big guys" at a comp, and command respect, he even made several attempts to get them to admit it, the comp was still geared toward women! Finally, James wants everyone to be honest when he didn't have the hootspa to do so himself. He simply doesn’t like not knowing something so that he can angle it. He doesn’t seem to show appreciation for loyalty so I can only summize that it leads to his immaturity and poor decision making skills. Is this what they call a “Napolean” syndrome?
In my opinion, James is still nothing more than the ‘weird’ kid at school to seeks attention through unusual behavior and costumes and when that fails because your senses are numbed from him, then he gets loud and obnoxious!
Total random change o' subject. Why do I feel a little chemistry going on between Baller and Nat? Maybe it's just me.
Sheila Rocks!!!!!!!!
hey carolyn - i was just wondering if you were planning on doing interviews with any of the evicted HG's now that they have been released from sequester??
-emmy-
p.s.- love your blog! thank you so much i dont know how i'd stay up to date without it!
Sheila, Sheila, Sheila...
My supper tried to come up about five times while I watched you try to set your trail of tears to music and then sing it to James. So what if Josh and James were your sons, and someone lied to their faces and screwed them over totally the way you did? What would YOU say then, Sheila???????
