BB9Dish - Ya Gotta Have it!

The DishChicks are back and ready to blog Big Brother 9!!
At bb9dish, we cover the Big Brother Live Feeds, so much of what we write could be considered a spoiler for those who only watch the broadcast on CBS. Now, we don't understand why anyone would choose to do that, since it's like forming an opinion based on 1/10,000th of the information, and they could at least try the feeds for free, but what do we know?! Check bb9dish often for Updates, videos, pics, chops, opinions, etc. xoxo, C-n-C

'BIG BROTHER' GETS HOT, LITERALLY

This article comes from the NYPost, with additional commentaries "***" by DishChickCarolyn.

'BIG Brother" will turn up the heat this season to encourage its contestants to wear little or no clothing.

***Can't say I'm surprised. Not even a little. Would it even *be* Big Brother otherwise??
Executive producer Allison Grodner told TV Guide that the house where the show is taped is usually air-conditioned, but won't be any longer.
    ***It's winter in L.A. Of course there's no A/C.
"It's going to get quite hot inside. I think you're going to see a lot more people taking off their clothes," she said.
***Ahem... On behalf of the fans, can we make specific requests as to who, please?
Meanwhile, CBS officials say that the show's contestants will be matched up in some fashion with their "soulmates," who "may prove to be their true love or their worst nightmare."
    ***Sounds like some marriages...
The pairs will be forced to "strategize, plot and scheme together as a couple for a chance at the prize," CBS officials said.
***But for how long? Since they are doing a full season, either that'll be short lived, or the eviction schedule will have to be altered from the norm - every 2 weeks?? We'll have to wait and see.

"These 'lovebirds' will live together as a couple, meaning they will sleep in the same bed, hold Head of Household as a couple, be nominated for eviction as a pair, and if the time comes, say their good-byes together upon eviction."
***Or is it that their nominated as a pair, but only one gets evicted?? So many questions!

Those are great questions... This "together" thing is gonna get tricky!

And, I second the right to request who does (and doesn't) get naked! ;)

I really wish that BB executives wouldn't try to change the format to incorporate a sleezy atmoshere by manipulating the tempreture. The houseguest do a good enough job at that as is and I've notice over the past few seasons the houseguest are having to do more competitons in the buff and be taped doing them. Come on! Voyerism, backstabbing, manipulation...these things I'm ok with and is what keeps America tuning in each season. Lol. Let's try to keep it at least one step above a nudist camp with obstical courses, shall we?

morning, beth :)

t-angie - well put. i really think they're just playing up this angle to lure in new viewers... the networks have nothing to broadcast (let's be frank), and this is a HUGE opportunity for BB to bring in a lot of new viewers.

Saying, "it's winter, so we're turning on the heat to insure that all of our houseguests don't get pneumonnia" just doesn't have that same sexy ring to it. ;)

Well, the "together" part actually makes a ton of sense.

Remember in the "Season of Secrets" when everyone had a secret partner, the first order of business for everyone was to break up the pairs. Now you wouldn't be able to lose one person from a pair without losing the other.

AND that would make strategizing much harder because IF you additionally have to vote together, you'd have to agree on which pair to vote out, nominate or save (or not save) from the block.

And to swing a person to your alliance, you'd have to swing both parties.

I think this has serious potential.

As for what this means for the length of a season, personally I hope it makes it shorter. I can only take so much of this without losing (what's left of) my mind entirely. Particularly since I assume they're doing another season in the summer.

And, what's this?! Big Brother and CBS trying to make sure that we see lots of sexy, tight skin on TV?! Criminy!

If they're going to this, what would we see next on TV if we go down this slippery slope?

Manufactured conflict? The consumption of alcoholic beverages?

Hot tubs?

I say, no! The network of I Love Lucy, Gunsmoke, Dr. Quinn and Lassie wouldn't stoop that low.

Remember, this is the Tiffany Network!

Carolyn, I just have to say that I think your blog is the best one out there! Thanks for all your hard work!

Usually Big Brother is 10weeks. So if they evict 2 people a week that would be only 8 weeks of evictions. However, I think to stretch out the last 2 weeks they will say that once you get down to final 4 you play for yourself. That would still allow for 10 weeks of evictions.

Thats what my Mom and I came up with and I thought I would share... who knows what they will really do, just a thought.

Here's what I read somewhere:
Pairs go out the first 3 evictions which leaves 10 people in the house. After that, they go out one at a time with the show ending on May 6th. A longer than normal season...
So many possibilities!
