Amanda is Seizing

6:35pm BBT - 2nd Video Just Added

7:18pm BBT - The feeds just came back on for a couple seconds.
7:20pm BBT - Feeds are back on. No sign of Amanda yet. Spark em up!!

Amanda mentioned a few minutes ago that she really needed some sugar, but BB wouldn't let her come into the Diary Room... She told us a few times on the feeds that she's hypoglycemic...
Derangements of function can range from vaguely "feeling bad" to coma and (rarely) permanent brain damage or death. Hypoglycemia can arise from many causes and can occur at any age.

Just now, Amanda dropped to the floor in a dead faint, and then began to have a seizure.

Natalie: Amanda just fainted or something!
Chelsia: Guarantee she's just being dramatic because she's on slop. Guaranteed.
***Go look for a noose, why don't you, Chelsia?
Alex: Open the Door! She's hypoglycemic!
Ryan: Open the Door!

She was having trouble getting air too. That upsets me a lot. They know these people's medical histories in every minute detail. Assholes in production.

I watched it, and I'm not sure I'm buying it.

Amanda has just passed Shiela for best actress on BB9.

Sounds like After Dark will be interesting tonight. I hope Amanda is OK! See what eating slop will do to a person??? I'd take a peanut butter diet over slop (oatmeal) any day.

I watched it as it happened... very scary. And for those of you who doubt... Amanda is not the actress in the bunch... Sheila is.

I couldn't believe Chelsia's comment... in my eyes she has now stooped too low and I hope she's gone soon. What a mean witch. The noose comment earlier in the week... pass... maybe she didn't think.

This stupid ass comment. You should be really ashamed of yourself Chelsia.

I hope Amanda is OK... and if not, Alex will get a new partner - like Jen or Parker.

    Reversing acute hypoglycemia
The blood glucose can be raised to normal within minutes by taking (or receiving) 10-20 grams of carbohydrate. It can be taken as food or drink if the person is conscious and able to swallow. This amount of carbohydrate is contained in about 3-4 ounces (100-120 ml) of orange, apple, or grape juice, about 4-5 ounces (120-150 ml) of regular (non-diet) soda, about one slice of bread, about 4 crackers, or about 1 serving of most starchy foods. Starch is quickly digested to glucose (unless the person is taking acarbose), but adding fat or protein retards digestion. Symptoms should begin to improve within 5 minutes, though full recovery may take 10-20 minutes. Overfeeding does not speed recovery and if the person has diabetes will simply produce hyperglycemia afterwards.

If a person is suffering such severe effects of hypoglycemia that they cannot (due to combativeness) or should not (due to seizures or unconsciousness) be given anything by mouth, glucose can be given by intravenous infusion or the glucose can be rapidly raised by an injection of glucagon. Further details of glucagon use are provided in the article on diabetic hypoglycemia.

** I hope they have a medic there with injectable glucose or she's going to the hospital ... then what??

No one is that good of an actress. Amanda can be a shit stirrer but she didn't deserve the comment made by Chelsia and she needed help!

Hope Amanda is ok. When all is said and done, this is just a game, she's a human being.

I cant believe people are saying its fake...this is serious. I hope she is okay, scary thing that is trust me..!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Anonymous6:50 PM

Amanda has said many time that she is hypercalcemic and Big Brother should have payed more attention to that. For all the people saying she is faking, makes me sick, come on have a little compassion.

  18. I have diabetics in my family that sound and act exactly like that when having a seizure from sugar dropping...seemed very real to me...

  19. I feel sorry for her........hope she is going to be ok

    my mom's friend is hypoglycemic

    ReplyDelete
  20. my prayers are with amanda. i don't think she is acting. my understanding of hypoglycimics (sp) they get very emotional before they have an attack.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Anonymous6:52 PM

As hard as it is to hate a person I don't even know, I am pretty sure I hate Chelsia.

No way she was faking that, you would have to be one hell of a pitiful person to pull something like that. If she was faking I hope Amanda is removed from the show. In a way though I hope she was faking and that she is OK.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I overlooked the last noose comment from chelsia, but if this is real (and I think it is) I won't accept this comment and will be done with her. I was really feeling sorry for how Chels is gonna feel when she finds out she's makin out with a gay porn star....I guess maybe she deserves it! God don't like ugly

    ReplyDelete
  23. Yeah - I agree with everyone here - Chelsia is really heartless, hoping she is outta there soon!!!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Anonymous6:57 PM

It was a stupid comment by Chelsia, but she said it on the way inside after only hearing "Amanda passed out." She hadn't seen Amanda yet and no one had yet to say seizure. So I'd cut her a bit of slack there. I can imagine someone pretending to pass out on BB (needless to say this wasn't pretend).

I'm more angry at production who could see and hear everything!

    Jane

    ReplyDelete
  25. Anonymous6:57 PM

I was watching the feeds when she collapsed and i have to say it was pretty scary and I highly doubt someone would go to the lengths of faking something like that... hope she's ok and it was awful of chelsia to make that comment, i mean have some compassion

    ReplyDelete
  26. I hope Amanda is OK and that it was all just an act. If it wasn't an act, production has some serious explaining to do.

Now there's a way to get ratings! Kill off the houseguests instead of evicting them?
    =)~

  27. to add a little personal note: I am hypoglycemic and before I learned to regulate my glucose levels (especially when I was younger) I passed out quite a few times...it only take a few mintues to get back, but it can be very scary. She'll be fine. But I'm sure the house (and all the haters watching) will create some silly drama over it! I still can't understand all the hatred towards her...

    ReplyDelete
  28. Jane I understand what you mean but after the noose comment this was enough for me. And that was way over the line. Chelsia and Joshua both! Mean, nasty people!!!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Oh my God! I hope she's OK!!!

    ReplyDelete
  30. I am very hypoglycemic. This was NOT an act. This is exactly what happens, from a personal perspective. Chelsia is a rotten @#$%& for even suggesting that she was acting. BB should know these peoples medical history. I hope she gets feeling better and soon!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Anonymous7:01 PM

Sure Chelsia shouldn't have said that...but she said it without knowing what happened. I believe she didn't mean it and is very concerned for Amanda. On another note, we cannot continue to hold the noose thing over her like that....she apologized. She recognized her wrong-doing and was forgiven. Therefore, it's in the past. Quit throwing it back in her face.

I saw it live and I agree Carolyn Chelsa needs a noose. She is now on my shit list!
I am a nurse and for those thinking she faked it she didn't. When ones blood sugar drops too long their body goes into shock.
That's what happen to Amanda. I saw it live.
Sad and pathetic to think someone can or would fake that.

I am praying for Amanda. Chelsia is plain evil!! Whatever happens in the house, no matter - Amanda will do better once the show is over. Chelsia is nothing.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Anonymous7:09 PM

Just so you know, Chelsia said earlier today in the HoH room that maybe today's PoV event would feature a noose. Joshua then commented, after laughing, that maybe it would be whoever's partner loses breath first would lose.

Chelsia is an awful person and I really hope she dies.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Anonymous7:10 PM

serena - I can't really disagree that Chelsia can be nasty (and Josh big time), but in my book the noose comment was worse. If you were watching them come in from the hot tub, Chelsia really didn't know it was serious. I'm not saying it was kind, but more petty than heartless. Chelsia did look upset when she saw Amanda (they were all very upset).

BTW - long feeds. There must be something real going on in there. A sip of juice didn't fix that.

what if...now everyone just remain calm and consider wht I'm saying before flyig off the handle...what if this is BBs way of taking a patner out and bringing back an evicted HG?? Like what happened with Neil. I do believe they are going to bring someone back...why was Sharon in sequester instead of going home? Granted all the secrecy behind Neil's leaving could just be a privacy issue--but maybe not. Why hasn't Parker or Jen been on house calls? Because they are bringing someone back (in my opinion). Maybe BB offered Neil and now Amanda some sort of incentive to leave the house and what happened a few minutes ago was Amanda's way out? Just throwing an idea out there....

    ReplyDelete
  42. Chelsia also made a noose comment earlier today! She joked (infront of Adam, Josh, Alli, James and Ryan) that today's PoV event should have a noose in it.

I can't believe no one captured that video and posted it. I hope CBS plays her comments, that's all I want.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I don't care for Amanda but I do hope she is ok. I think the people watching them should have reacted sooner.

By hearing her on the feeds, I don't think she was faking. However, there has been a bunch of intense drama in the house tonight and everyone is fired up. I don't think Chelsia realized the seriousness of it at first. I don't think she should be cruicified for it either. Everyone in that house wishes they could take back things they've said without thinking.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Jane - I agree the noose comment was worse.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Anonymous7:16 PM

I think we should take into consideration that when everyone in the house realized what happened with Amanda was legit, Chelsia was right there and very concerned and trying to help Amanda in any way. Perhaps we shouldn't send her to the noose just yet....

    ReplyDelete
  48. Anonymous7:18 PM

I hope she is okay. It didn't look like she was breathing when she was face down. How scary. I didn't hear Chelsia make that comment, lord knows if she really thought something was wrong she wouldn't have said such a thing. I don't think she is that vicious.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Anonymous7:20 PM

I just happened to be watching the hot tub feed when it happened which cut to a camera from a different direction. Amanda was much worse off than this clips shows. She was seriously seizing and lost her breath for quite a few seconds. Someone knew to roll her on her side (prevents suffocation if vomiting) and that's when she started gasping for air.

Disturbing! Production should have been right in there!!

  56. Apparently the panic button was pushed and then that triggers the cops.

They switched to slop from PB&J because that slop product is supposedly "complete nutrition." Last season they read the whole label and it's some kind of fortified food substance - it's not oatmeal.

But some people need special stuff. Obviously.

    Any word on Allison??

I was glad to hear about the panic button, and I guess there is a nurse there 24/7. That makes me feel a little better.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Sheila is throwing Amanda under the bus big time. Again, Natalie started trouble and Amanda is being blamed. Sheila just said that Amanda told her that Allison was talking crap about her...when what really happened was that Amanda mentioned the situation to Nat and Nat was the one who got Sheila all riled up.

I am an ICU nurse, this classic low blood sugar. BB should have had a clue about this, she obviously has told them she has sugar issues. IV now and run in as many bags d10 as poss. Admit now to ICU she can die. Seizure and gasping tells me she has a sugar of low 30's.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Anonymous7:44 PM

    Busy night...

Sheila said to Josh that the paramedics thanked him for pushing the panick button... because it saved Amanda. So it may be pretty serious. She's at the hospital getting checked out. Apparently she needs some medications/

James is in a shock of what happened. He was holding her head when she was in convulsions. He seems sincere... Chelsia not so.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Sorry Jeannie, I was orginally referring to the dramatic comment not the noose comments.

  72. Anonymous7:52 PM

What Angie (at 7:12) said really strikes a chord.

I "felt" like this was an act. It just didn't seem right. People can call me names or insensitive or whatever, but it's how I felt.

Why would production move that slow if it wasn't an act?

Anyone want to bet that Alex gets called into the diary room later and they ask him, "So, of the two departed houseguests from this past week, who would you like to be your new partner?"

If that happens, then how many more "actor plants" are in this house? Neil was #1, and Amanda #2.

I'd bet on Sheila being #3.

Nobody has a handle on explaining how this game works. Is it a short series, or regular length? Do people win as couples? Or will one person win the grand prize? How does the sequester work? Why did Sharon and Jacob not hit the streets? Why hasn't Jen and Parker been on the interview circuit?

This game is twisted, and NOBODY knows what the hell is going on.

In my opinion, Amanda's "seizure" is just another planned twist.

    ReplyDelete
  73. I am so worried for Amanda right now.

Honestly, I smell a lawsuit! I think in the future, they need to have a doctor or nurse on staff??? SOMETHING!

    ReplyDelete
  76. Anonymous9:05 PM

I'm hypoglycemic also and I know exactly what this is like. It's so scary when you start getting shaky and know what's coming if you don't get what you need to eat quick. I can't believe how heartless Chelsia is....

    ReplyDelete
  77. Anonymous10:00 PM

I read that Allison was in the DR getting treatment for her allergic reaction and that is why Amanda could not get in.

Amanda has proven to be a drama queen this season so if I was Chelsia out in the hot tub and heard Amanda fainted I would have had teh same reaction, here we go again with the drama queen not knowing just how serious the situation was. Most of you people would too, admit it, don't be so judgmental.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Anonymous10:04 PM

Chelsia's comment about the noose didn't have to do with Amanda's father, it was about her hanging herself in the game, like making herself look bad so she wasn't going to win, it was Josh's comment that made it about her dad. This time though, her comment about amanda doing it for drama because she is on slop is just too much.. she needs to go soon. And she was one of my favs too.

Question for the ICU nurse: have you ever heard of pseudoseizures?

I don't think that this was a seizure(grand mal), but I do think that this was a pseudoseizure. The only way to be sure is to perform an EEG. She didn't appear to have some of the classic symptoms of tonic-clonic seizures(loss of bladder function, tongue biting, muscle spasms-stiff, head rolled back, or eyes open) She seemed to be very limp. The main thing that they drilled into us about PS is eye closing. In grand mal the eyes are open.

I think she had a pseudoseizure based on what I learned from my neurology courses & rotation. They made us watch tons of videos of tonic-clonic, absence, pseudoseizures, alcoholic, and infantile seizures. They drilled it into us: know what they look like and the classic symptoms that you may see.

On my neuro rotation, there were 4 kids that were admitted/eventually diagnosed with PS. When I talked to these kids, they described falling, shaking, heavy breathing/gasping for air(symptoms which are similar and often difficult to distinguish from seizures). They also reported closing their eyes. Their EEGs showed no abnormalies. Hypoglycemia can also cause pseudoseizures.

    ****INFO ON PS(don't have link)****
    Pseudoseizures: Recognition and treatment

    E. WAYNE MASSEY M.D.1, and TERRENCE LEE RILEY M.D.2
1 Assistant professor of neurology at Duke University Medical Center
2 Assistant professor of neurology at Boston University Medical Center

Pseudoseizures involve a subjective loss of consciousness, usually resulting from a psychological disturbance. Drug intoxication, panic or anxiety attacks, or hypoglycemia may also induce behavior that resembles epilèptic manifestations. Multiple EEG evaluations and careful clinical observation can rule out epilepsy. Psychiatric treatment, including family interviews and sympathetic discussion of the underlying emotional problem with the patient, should be provided when appropriate.

BB9 this has gone to far. You people need to be quick if there is an emergency. I also suffer from hypoglycemia and it is very very scary. I can't stand Chelsia she is heartless. She cares for know one except herself. We as humans should have a brain and know what to say and what not to say. If i was told that someones father killed himself, I would never ever make a comment about a noose, I mean common we have commonsense lets use it. As far as her thinking this was fake that makes me sick under whatever circumstance. She could have kept her little comments to herself I have NO respect for her at all and I hope she is gone soon. Amanda i wish you the best and hope you getting feeling better really soon.
